YouTuber Elvish Yadav scripted history as he became the first wildcard contestant to win any Bigg Boss season. The uber-popular contestant defeated Abhishek Malhan, Manisha Rani, Bebika Dhurve, and Pooja Bhatt to win 'Bigg Boss OTT 2'. With this, Elvish Yadav walked away with the trophy and Rs 25 lakh cash prize. Abhishek Malhan finished as the runner-up while Manisha Rani came third. Bebika Dhurve and Pooja Bhatt finished in the fourth and fifth spots respectively.
Talking to The Indian Express about his win, Elvish Yadav said: "I am really happy as I hadn’t expected this. History has been created, and I made it happen. That definitely makes me feel special and it’s truly an amazing feeling."
"I am getting to know about all these now. Be it politicians, celebs or social media influencers, I want to thank them for supporting me. However, honestly, I did not seek any backing or did not keep a team to promote me like this. Even I am shocked about how so many people wanted me to win,” he added.
Elvish Yadav had entered the show as a wildcard contestant. His late entry into the show was questioned by the likes of Abhishek Malhan and Manisha Rani, and they often debated why Elvish does not deserve to win the show.
However, Salman Khan had defended Elvish Yadav at one point, saying he had a harder task connecting with the housemates and fans after joining the show mid-way. Along with Elvish Yadav, Aashika Bhatia had also entered the show as a wildcard contestant, but she was eliminated quite early.
Elvish Yadav already had a massive fandom on social media through his YouTube videos, and he also received support from political leaders ahead of the 'Bigg Boss OTT 2' grand finale.
The YouTuber's journey inside the show will be remembered for his quirky one-liners, and he has made words like 'systumm' very popular.
Apart from Elvish Yadav, Abhishek Malhan, Manisha Rani, Bebika Dhurve, and Pooja Bhatt, the other contestants in the show included Puneet Superstar, Aaliya Siddiqui, Palak Purswani, Avinash Sachdev, Akanksha Puri, Jiya Shankar, Falaq Naaz, Cyrus Broacha, Jad Hadid and Aashika Bhatia.
The first season of ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ was hosted by filmmaker-producer Karan Johar. Divya Agarwal emerged as the winner of the first season of the reality show.
