Varun Dhawan, Samantha Ruth Prabhu Debut Their Spy Avatars In First Look Poster Of ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’
The first look poster of the Indian version of ‘Citadel’, starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, has been unveiled.
The first look poster of the Indian version of ‘Citadel’, starring Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, is finally here! On Tuesday, Prime Video India shared the first poster of the upcoming series, which came as a sweet surprise for fans, who have been looking forward to watching the Indian version of the American show. Along with the first look poster, Prime Video India also revealed the title of the show: ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’. Sharing the poster of ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’, Prime Video India wrote a long caption to reveal a few details about the series.
The caption read, “Prime Video has confirmed the Indian series within the Citadel universe will be called Citadel: Honey Bunny. Citadel: Honey Bunny has a riveting narrative that fuses the pulse-pounding elements of a gritty spy action thriller with the heartwarming allure of a love story, all set against the vibrant tapestry of the 90s. Honey Bunny is the Indian series within the Citadel universe.”

The yellow poster had the title card, which also gave a glimpse of the characters of Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who play spy agents in the upcoming show. Both the Indian stars were seen holding a gun and taking aim.
The announcement post also revealed the rest of the key cast, consisting of other Indian actors including Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Parihar, Kashvi Majmundar, Saquib Saleem, Sikandar Kher.
Created by the Russo Brothers, ‘Citadel’ premiered on Amazon Prime Video in April, 2023. Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra played two agents named Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh in the spy agency Citadel.
When the Indian version was announced last year, many fans wondered if the series is a remake. However, Samantha Ruth Prabhu later clarified on Instagram that it is not a remake. The Indian version is a spin-off, with versions also planned in Spanish, Italian and Mexican.
For the unversed, ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’ marks the web series debut of Varun Dhawan. This is Samantha Ruth Prabhu's third streaming project after her talk show ‘Sam Jam’ and the critically acclaimed series ‘The Family Man 2’.
‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’ is led by renowned creators Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, widely known as Raj & DK. They serve as both showrunners and directors for the much-awaited series, with Sita Menon co-authoring the script with them.
Raj & DK, under their banner D2R Films, will also serve as executive producers. The series is produced by D2R Films, and Amazon Studios, with AGBO's Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Mike Larocca, Angela Russo-Otstot, Scott Nemes, and David Weil overseeing production on the Indian original and all series within the global ‘Citadel’ universe.
Apart from ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’, Prime Video announced several other projects. These include Bhumi Pednekar’s ‘Daldal’, Ananya Panday’s ‘Call Me Bae’, Gajraj Rao’s ‘Dupahiya’, Vijay Varma’s ‘Matka King’, Uorfi Javed’s ‘Follow Kar Lo Yaar’ and more.

Coming back to ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’, the release date of the upcoming series is yet to be announced. As per Variety, Samantha Ruth Prabhu will play Honey and Varun Dhawan will portray Bunny.
The next series in the ‘Citadel’ universe is Italy’s ‘Citadel: Diana’, starring Matilda De Angelis.
