IPL Auction: SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) bought Mayank Agarwal and Harry Brook in the initial phase.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) auction got off to a fiery start as SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) bought Harry Brook and Mayank Agarwal. England batter Harry Brook was bought for Rs 13.25 crores and this is a testament to his performance in the recently-concluded Test series against Pakistan. Kavya Maran, who is the daughter of SunRisers Hyderabad owner Kalanthi Maran was making the bids for the franchise at the auction and she is now trending on Twitter.

England all-rounder Sam Curran became the most expensive buy in the history of the IPL as he was bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 18.50 crore.
England Test captain Ben Stokes was sold to Chennai Super for 16.25 crores while Australia all-rounder Cameron Green has gone to Mumbai Indians for Rs 17.50 crore.
A total of 406 cricketers are going under the hammer in the auction. Initially, a total of 369 players were shortlisted by 10 teams from the initial list of 991 players. 36 additional players were requested by teams, which are added into the final list which makes a total of 405 players which will be presented at the auction.
Out of 405 players, 273 are Indians and 132 are overseas players of which 4 players are from associate nations. The total capped players are 119, uncapped players are 282 and 4 from associate nations.
