Uzbekistan singer Kaniza will not be able to perform on stage for the next one month.

Uzbekistan singer Kaniza, who is known for her popular songs ‘Hali-Hali’ and ‘Kuyov Jo’ralar’, will not be able to perform live for the next few weeks. This temporary month-long ban will restrict the singer from performing in front of an audience on stage. Wondering why was the artiste barred from performing on stage? The reason behind the ban is her viral video. In the video, she is seen singing and grooving, dressed in a pair of high-heeled boots, nude leggings and an oversized shirt.

Check out the video below:

In the video, Kaniza can be seen in black thigh-high heeled boots, nude leggings, an oversized white shirt and unzipped black leather jacket. She can be seen sporting a straight hairstyle as she dances and sings on stage.

Coming back to the ban, Uzbekconzert, the government institution responsible for giving licenses to artists in the country, spoke about the decision to restrict Kaniza from performing.

"The singer Kaniza has recently published videos on social media in which she behaves obscenely, contradicting behavioural ethics, promoting immoral ideas and offending viewers," Uzbekconzert said on Monday, as per Wion.

For the unversed, artists in the Central Asian Republic of Uzbekistan can only work and perform in the country if they have a licence from the government.

Kaniza's agent also recently spoke to AFP about the incident and clarified that the singer “simply sang two songs at a restaurant opening.”

According to the culture ministry, her suspension is a "one-month warning so she has time to reflect and draw the right conclusions.”

"If in one month she says she has understood and promises not to post such videos again, then her (licence) application will be considered," the ministry further stated.

Kaniza, an avid Instagram user, often posts photos and videos, giving a glimpse of her personal and professional life.

She enjoys a massive following of 1 million on the photo-sharing platform. Besides her presence on Instagram, Kaniza also has TikTok and YouTube pages.
