Karan Johar Gets Emotional As 'Kal Ho Na Ho' Clocks 20 Years, Remembers Father Yash Johar
'Kal Ho Na Ho' had released in the theatres in 2003.
'Kal Ho Na Ho' is possibly one of the best Shah Rukh Khan movies ever, and fans still fondly remember his performance as Aman Mathur. The movie which also stars Preity Zinta, Jaya Bachchan and Saif Ali Khan, released in 2003, and in the latest entertainment news, the movie clocked 20 years on Tuesday. Karan Johar took to his Instagram handle to mark the 20th anniversary of the film and he remembered his father Yash Johar who had produced the film under Dharma Productions. Karan Johar also praised the entire team of 'Kal Ho Na Ho' for their hard work.
"This film has been such an emotional journey for me and perhaps for all of us, if I have gathered over the many years. To bring such a stellar starcast together with a story that has a beating heart…it’s all kudos to the entire cast and team behind the camera for making Kal Ho Naa Ho still beat strong and within everyone’s hearts," Karan Johar wrote on Instagram.
"For me, this was the last film that my father was a part of from the Dharma family…and it feels surreal to have his presence in every frame as I rewatch it even till today. Thank you papa, for guiding us through everything & making stories that matter…and for always standing by what is right. I will always miss you…And thank you Nikkhil for making a directorial debut that is etched forever in all our collective hearts," he added.

'Kal Ho Naa Ho' starred SRK, Preity Zinta, Jaya Bachchan and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles. The film beautifully showcased the love triangle between three individuals and how Shah Rukh Khan’s character eventually goes on to sacrifice his love as he does not have that long to live.
The movie turned out to be one of the most successful Bollywood films in 2003. The Hindi movie also had cameos by Sonali Bendre and Sanjay Kapoor.
On the work front, Karan Johar returned as a director after six years with 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani', starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. The Bollywood movie also starred Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi and Dharmendra in pivotal roles, and it went on to do business of more than Rs 150 crore in India.
Karan Johar is currently busy hosting the eighth season of 'Koffee With Karan'. The latest episode will feature cousins Kajol and Rani Mukerji.
