After Shah Rukh Khan, Vicky Kaushal Says THIS Actor Was The "Last" Superstar
After Shah Rukh Khan, Vicky Kaushal feels this actor was the "last" superstar, and no it’s neither Salman Khan nor Aamir Khan.
Vicky Kaushal had a smashing 2023 as he delivered two box office hits in the form of 'Zara Hatke Zara Bachke' and 'Sam Bahadur'. Both movies grossed more than Rs 85 crore in India, and Vicky Kaushal earned praise for his acting performance in both the films. Vicky also had an extended cameo appearance in Rajkumar Hirani's 'Dunki'. The actor was able to earn the maximum praise even when the film stars the likes of Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu. In the latest entertainment news, Vicky Kaushal discussed the concept of stardom as he reflected on the level of popularity attained by iconic stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan.
"I think the idea of classic stardom will be replaced by a different version. The kind of popularity that Dilip Kumar, Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan must have seen is as different from what Shah Rukh Khan has experienced. It’s still huge but a different manifestation of the same glory. The last person I felt this way about was Hrithik Roshan," Vicky Kaushal said in an interview with GQ India.
"It was a phenomenon that hit everybody. Right now, there’s confusion among the younger lot. Because we see a star every week who trends and then nobody remembers them a few weeks later. For this generation, it will be much harder to attain the stardom of the past," he added.
During the interview, Vicky Kaushal also opened up on his marriage with Katrina Kaif.
“You can never be the same person after marriage. Starting to live a life with someone is a huge addition. Because until then, everything is about you. Your schedule, your perspective—it’s what is right for you. When you’re married, it’s the ‘us’ that supersedes your individual needs. Every decision has to make sense for both of us. Only then is there inner peace. I’d go so far as to say that the amount I’ve matured in the last two and a half years [post marriage] is way more than I did in the first 33 years of my life," said Vicky.
“Imagine it’s your day off. It’s raining outside. A beautiful calm has taken over and there’s nothing, absolutely nothing that is making you fear a future or regret the past. You’re just present. You feel absolutely content. When I’m with her, that’s what happens. I don’t feel like rushing anywhere. It’s simply the best feeling," he added.
Further speaking about Katrina Kaif, Vicky said, "I used to think the day I met the person who I could sit silently with for hours and not feel the silence, that was going to be my person. With Katrina, it’s that feeling. She’s home. From our initial days of dating when there was heady excitement every time we met to now, two and a half years after marriage, that feeling hasn’t changed."
"And I’m somebody who hasn’t ever been overtly romantic. But she makes me one. The feeling of being loved, being taken care of, and in return, caring and loving someone deeply, I just love that aspect of love. Emotionally, rationally, when I’m with her, I feel, ye sahi hai," he added.
On the work front, Vicky Kaushal will next be seen in 'Chhava' alongside Rashmika Mandanna. He also has Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Love & War' in the pipeline.
In 'Love & War', Vicky Kaushal will be sharing the screen with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
