Akshay Kumar breaks silence on his recent few films underperforming at the box office.

Akshay Kumar, will next be seen alongside Tiger Shroff in 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan'. The trailer for the film was unveiled on Tuesday afternoon, and it is fair to say that hopes are sky high from the film. The actor has had an underwhelming few months when it comes to the box office, hence Akshay Kumar would also be hoping for 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' to be a huge blockbuster. At the trailer launch event in Mumbai, Akshay Kumar spoke about his expectations from the upcoming Hindi film, and he also reacted to his recent movies like 'Selfiee' and 'Mission Raniganj' underperforming at the box office.

When asked if he feels 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' will end up breaking the chain of his consecutive box office flops, Akshay Kumar said, “I am keeping my fingers crossed, I hope so!”

"We keep on trying for every type of film. I don’t stick to one kind of genre. I keep on jumping from one genre to another, whether there is success or no success, that’s how I have always worked. I’ll keep on doing it, something that is social, something that is good, something in comedy, in action," he added.

Akshay Kumar also said that he is often advised to stick to comedy and action films because that are the kind of movies that are working today.

“I will always keep on doing different kinds of (work). I won’t be sticking to one kind of thing just because people say, ‘sir, aaj kal comedy and action bohot chal rahe hai (I am told comedy and action is working these days)’. It doesn’t mean I should only do action. I myself start getting bored if I do one kind of thing. Whether it was Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, whether it is Airlift or Rustom, or many other films that I have done; sometimes success is there, sometimes it’s not," said Akshay Kumar.

“It is not that I have not seen (this phase before), there was a time when I had 16 consecutive flops in my career. But I stood there and kept on doing work and I’ll still do that. This is one film this year for which we all have done lots of hard work and now we are going to see the results. We hope this is going to bring good luck to all of us," he added.

Coming back to ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, the movie also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Sonakshi Sinha. The upcoming Hindi movie will be released in cinemas on April 10, coinciding with Eid 2024.

The movie has been shot across locations such as Mumbai, London, Abu Dhabi, Scotland, and Jordan.
