Actor Akshay Kumar on Thursday confirmed that Sanjay Dutt has started shooting for 'Welcome to the Jungle', which is the third installment of the hit film franchise 'Welcome'. Through his social media post, Akshay Kumar also celebrated 16 years of 'Welcome', which released in theatres in 2007. For the unversed, the second installment of the franchise 'Welcome Back' had released in 2015.
Taking to Instagram, Akshay Kumar shared a video of himself riding a horse and Sanjay Dutt chasing him on a bike.
Along with the video, Akshay Kumar wrote, "What a lovely coincidence that we celebrate 16 years of #Welcome today while I am shooting for the franchise’s third part #WelcomeToTheJungle. And it’s wonderful to welcome Sanju Baba in this one. What do you think?”

Apart from Akshay Kumar, 'Welcome To The Jungle' will also star Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Rahul Dev, Mukesh Tiwari, Sharib Hashmi, Inaamulhaq, Zakir Hussain, Yashpal Sharma, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani and Vrihi Kodvara.
Earlier, sharing a hilarious BTS video from the sets of ‘Welcome To The Jungle’, Akshay Kumar wrote, “Absolute madness of masti begins as we start the shoot of #WelcomeToTheJungle. Will need your wishes for this rollercoaster full of all things fun and crazy #Welcome3.”
The BTS video gives a sneak peek into Lara Dutta’s character holding a hunter in her hand as she commands Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi to move while Krushna Abhishek and Tusshar Kapoor are standing aside. In a hilarious turn of events, Akshay Kumar’s character loses his balance and falls from a height.
Directed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Firoz A. Nadiadwala and Jyoti Deshpande, the film is slated to hit theatres on December 20, 2024.
Interestingly, the original film ‘Welcome’ was also released on Christmas in 2007. ‘Welcome’ and ‘Welcome Back’, both produced by Firoz Nadiadwala, have earned a special place in people’s hearts. The first installment featured stars like Katrina Kaif, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor, and Mallika Sherawat.
