Paresh Rawal’s sudden exit from ‘Hera Pheri 3’ sparked legal troubles and a wave of controversy. Akshay Kumar has now expressed hope for the film’s future.
In the ever-evolving world of Bollywood, few franchises hold the nostalgic charm and fan frenzy of ‘Hera Pheri’. So when veteran actor Paresh Rawal decided to walk out of ‘Hera Pheri 3’, it sent shockwaves across the industry and among fans alike. The unexpected move left many questioning the fate of the beloved trilogy. However, Akshay Kumar remains hopeful. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, he shared his optimism about the film’s future. According to reports, Paresh Rawal had initially agreed to the film and even filmed a promo with Akshay and Suniel Shetty.
However, he later took a shocking call to walk out of the project, leaving the comedy film’s future in a limbo.
Speaking to Pinkvilla about the upcoming project, Akshay Kumar said, “Whatever is happening is happening in front of you. Keeping my fingers crossed. I hope everything goes well. Everything will go well only. I know, for sure.”
When Paresh Rawal initially confirmed his exit, rumours circulated about creative differences with the makers of the film. However, the actor dismissed such speculations by tweeting, “I wish to put it on record that my decision to step away from Hera Pheri 3 was not due to creative differences. I REITERATE THAT THERE ARE NO CREATIVE DISAGREEMENT WITH THE FILM MAKER . I hold immense love, respect, and faith in Mr. Priyadarshan the film director.”
Director Priyadarshan, caught off guard by Paresh Rawal’s exit, revealed that the actor hadn’t informed anyone prior to his decision. Priyadarshan noted that contracts had already been signed, and a promo had even been shot for ‘Hera Pheri 3’. He shared that Akshay, visibly emotional, had tears in his eyes when he learned of Paresh Rawal’s departure.
The drama didn’t end there. Reports surfaced shortly after Paresh Rawal’s exit that Akshay Kumar’s production banner, Cape of Good Films, sent a Rs 25 crore legal notice to Paresh Rawal for walking out of the film after signing a contract and beginning shoot. The notice accused Paresh Rawal of “grossly unprofessional conduct”.
In response to the same, Paresh Rawal tweeted, “My lawyer, Ameet Naik, has sent an appropriate response regarding my rightful termination and exit. Once they read my response, all issues will be laid to rest.”
Reportedly, Paresh Rawal has already returned the signing amount with 15 per cent interest.
The ‘Hera Pheri’ franchise began in 2000 and quickly turned into a cult comedy classic thanks to its hilarious dialogues and iconic trio. The second film, ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ (2006), though not as critically loved, was a commercial hit.
