Akshay Kumar Tests COVID-19 Positive, To Miss Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant's Wedding: Report
As per several reports, Akshay Kumar has tested positive for COVID-19 and hence he will be missing the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.
Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is one of the most talented actors the country has ever produced. The actor might be going through a lean patch at the box office, but one cannot deny his stardom and the acting prowess he has shown over the years. In the latest entertainment news, as per a report in Hindustan Times, Akshay Kumar has tested positive for COVID-19 and as a result, he will be missing the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, which is slated to take place on Friday evening.
“Akshay Kumar had been promoting his latest release Sarfira when he felt unwell, and decided to get tested after being told that some crew members of his promotions team had tested positive for covid. The actor tested positive on Friday morning, and would end up missing the last leg of promotions, as well as Anant Ambani’s wedding for which Anant had personally gone to invite him," Hindustan Times quoted a source as saying.
"It’s disappointing but the responsible guy that Akshay is, he has immediately isolated himself," he added.
Coming back to Akshay Kumar, his latest release 'Sarfira' hit the cinemas today. The new Hindi movie is garnering positive response from critics, and it needs to be seen how it performs at the box office.
The Hindi film is a remake of Suriya's smash-hit 'Soorarai Pottru'. Earlier, the film's trailer had become the most-watched Hindi trailer of 2024.
'Sarfira' has been directed by National Award-winning director Sudha Kongara. The upcoming Hindi movie has been bankrolled by Aruna Bhatia (Cape of Good Films), South superstars Suriya and Jyotika (2D Entertainment) and Vikram Malhotra (Abundantia Entertainment).
Apart from Akshay Kumar, the new Hindi film also stars Paresh Rawal, Radhikka Madan, and Seema Biswas in key roles. The film is written by Sudha and Shalini Ushadevi, with dialogues penned by Pooja Tolani.
