Akshay Kumar's 'Housefull 5' was earlier slated to release in theatres on Diwali 2024.

'Housefull' is one of the most successful comedy franchises in the history of Indian cinema, and earlier this year, the makers had announced that Akshay Kumar would be returning for the fifth installment of the 'Housefull' franchise and the release date was announced as Diwali 2024. However, we now have some sad news for you. In the latest entertainment news, Akshay Kumar on Monday confirmed that 'Housefull 5' has now been postponed, and it will be releasing in theatres in 2025. 

"5 times the entertainment is on its way! See you in cinemas on 6th June, 2025," Akshay Kumar wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

"The Housefull franchise owes its massive success to the audiences and we hope for a similar reception for Housefull 5. The team has crafted an absolutely mind-blowing story that demands top-notch VFX. Therefore, we've made the decision to push the release to ensure we deliver five times the entertainment with great cinematic experience," an official statement from producer Sajid Nadiadwala read. 

Along with Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh would also be a part of 'Housefull 5', and the rest of the cast will be announced later.

The new Hindi movie will be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala while it will be directed by Tarun Mansukhani.

Talking about Akshay Kumar, the actor was last seen in 'Mission Raniganj'. The movie which failed to cause any waves in theatres, recently premiered on Netflix.

The premiere on Netflix has given the film much-needed audience and social media is filled with praises for the Akshay Kumar-starrer.

Akshay Kumar's 'OMG 2' had bowled over fans in 2023 and despite a clash with 'Gadar 2', the Hindi film managed to score more than Rs 150 crore at the domestic box office.
