"Not Going To Fight...": Alia Bhatt Reacts To Trolling, "Toxic" Comments On Ranbir Kapoor
Alia Bhatt has opened up on how she deals with online trolling.
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are two of the finest actors of this generation, but there are times, when this powerful Bollywood couple is in the news for their relationship rather than their work. Recently, Ranbir Kapoor became a subject of vicious trolling on social media after a Vogue video of Alia Bhatt went viral in which she said that Ranbir Kapoor asks her to "wipe off" her lipstick because he prefers her natural lip colour.
This statement spread like a wildfire, and many labelled Ranbir Kapoor as "toxic", and a "red-flag."
In the latest entertainment news, Alia Bhatt opened up on the trolling, and how she deals with things.
“I have lived my life in the public eye. Initially, I was a little defensive and then I was dismissive. But now, I have grown into a person who thinks that I have nothing to complain about. The position I am in, it doesn’t look nice when I say, ‘Oh, I don’t like what people are saying.’ So, even though sometimes, you don’t want to read nasty things about you, your family or your relationship, but I am not going to fight with my audience," Alia Bhatt told Hindustan Times.
"Those people who are writing these things are my audience. So, as long as they are watching my films and I am entertaining them… when I say that I feel grateful for all the love from my audience, these are the moments when I have to show my gratitude and not just when things are hunky-dory," she added.
Earlier, Ranbir Kapoor had also broken his silence on the criticism he received after Alia Bhatt’s lipstick comment.
"Recently, I was reading some article about being toxic and something relating to some statement I made and I understand this. And I am on the side of the people who are fighting for the toxic masculinity, if they use me as the face of it, it’s fine because their fight is bigger than just me feeling sad about them having an opinion about what I said. I look at a larger picture," said Ranbir Kapoor.
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor got married in 2022 and have a daughter named Raha. She turned 1 today.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen next in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's ‘Animal’, scheduled for release on December 1.
Talking about Alia Bhatt, she will next be seen in 'Jigra', which is being directed by Vasan Bala, and co-produced by Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar.
