Fans have been excited about Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming project 'Ramayana'. Now we have some interesting news when it comes to this particular new Hindi movie. A report in Pinkvilla has claimed that Alia Bhatt would be playing the role of Sita in the ambitious project. As per the same report, director Nitesh Tiwari is intending to take the project on the floors by December 2023. Ranbir Kapoor is expected to play Lord Ram in the new Hindi movie, while talks are ongoing with 'KGF' star Yash to play Raavan.
“Over the last few weeks, Ranbir Kapoor has been spotted visiting the DNEG office, to check on the progress of Ramayana. The pre-visualization of the world has already been done and the team is now doing look tests with Ranbir to play Lord Ram. The purpose of the visit has been to get the right look for Ranbir as on getting it right, he will then step into the physical transformation aspect,” Pinkvilla quoted a source as saying.
“Alia was the first choice for Ramayana, but back in the day, the dates couldn’t match due to multiple reasons. But with all the delays, Nitesh and producer Madhu Mantena have gotten back to their first choice and the actress is excited to play a character that could stay with her for a lifetime. Same for Ranbir, who is charged up for this new divine journey of Shri Ram,” the source added.
While talking about Yash, the source said: "Yash is yet to sign the dotted lines, but Madhu is confident to have Yash on board the film. There are some minor issues, and once they are resolved, Nitesh and Madhu would have things on paper with Yash."
On the film front, Alia Bhatt will soon make her debut in Hollywood alongside Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan in Netflix's spy thriller ‘Heart of Stone’. The new Hollywood movie is slated to premiere on the streaming platform on August 11.
Alia Bhatt also has Karan Johar's ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ with Ranveer Singh in the pipeline and is yet to start shooting for Farhan Akhtar's ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ with Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra.
