Alia Bhatt To Star In Vasan Bala's 'Jigra'. Check Out Announcement Video
Alia Bhatt, who was last seen in Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, will be starring in Vasan Bala's next, titled 'Jigra'.
Alia Bhatt, who made her Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s ‘Student of the Year’ alongside Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra, didn’t leave a lasting impression with her acting stint in the 2012 film. And while many thought she was just another star kid, she proved otherwise by showcasing her impeccable acting range in movies like ‘Highway’, ‘Raazi’, ‘Udta Punjab’, ‘Darlings’, ‘Gully Boy’, and ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. She was last seen in the hit Karan Johar directorial ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, co-starring Ranveer Singh.
And if you are waiting to see Alia Bhatt spreading her magic on the silver screen again, then we have some good news for you! Karan Johar's Dharma Productions shared that Alia Bhatt will be starring in their next project titled 'Jigra'.
The new Hindi movie is being directed by Vasan Bala, who has earlier helmed projects like 'Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota', and 'Monica, O My Darling'. Both these movies received critical acclaim. Talking about 'Jigra', the release date has also been confirmed.
Dharma Productions announced that 'Jigra' will be releasing in theatres on September 27, 2024.

The announcement video starts off, with a quote by GK Chesterton, which reads, "The paradox of courage is that one must be a little careless of life to keep it."
In the video, Alia Bhatt's voice can be heard, and she says, "Dekh. Dekh mujhe. Meri Rakhi pehenta hai na tu, to mere protection mai hai. Tujhe mai kuch bhi hone nahi dungi, kabhi bhi."
Then the title card reads, "Alia Bhatt in Jigra." The video then shows Alia Bhatt standing with a bag on her shoulder.
'Jigra' is being produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Alia Bhatt and Somen Mishra.
Alia Bhatt also shared the announcement video on Instagram. In the caption, she spoke about producing the movie via her banner Eternal Sunshine Productions, as she wrote, "From debuting in a Dharma production to now producing a film with them, in many ways, it feels like coming full circle from where I started.”
Earlier, Pinvilla had reported that Alia Bhatt would indeed be starring in Vasan Bala's next.

Alia Bhatt was last seen in Karan Johar's 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani', alongside Ranveer Singh, Jaya Bachchan, Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi. The movie turned to be a hit at the domestic as well as global box office.
