Speaking of 'Amar Singh Chamkila', the film introduces the viewers to the life of the uber-popular Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila. The film is set in Punjab in the 1980s and the movie narrates the story of the rise and struggles of the Punjabi singer.

For the unversed, Amar Singh Chamkila is known as Punjab’s original rockstar of the masses, the highest record-selling artist of his time, who emerged from the shadows of poverty and rose to the heights of popularity in the 80s due to the sheer power of his music. However, he was assassinated at the young age of 27.
