Amy Jackson Reacts After Getting Trolled For Her New Look Resembling Cillian Murphy, Calls Criticism “Quite Sad”

While celebrities use social media to connect with a wider audience and promote their projects, it also leads to them being trolled more often. And actress Amy Jackson is the latest celebrity to face the brunt of social media trolling. Amy Jackson's recent Instagram post garnered a lot of attention and many trolled her for looking similar to Cillian Murphy.
After the harsh criticism surrounding her new look, Amy Jackson broke her silence on the same. Speaking to The Times of India, Amy Jackson responded to the insensitive comments on her new look and called it “quite sad”.
The actress also reacted to many social media users comparing her transformation to ‘Oppenheimer’ star Cillian Murphy.
Amy Jackson told TOI, “I’m an actor and I take my job very seriously. For the last month, I've been filming a new project in the UK. So, for the character I am playing, I had to slim down and fully commit myself to the role. The online outcry from the (mainly male) Indian demographic is quite sad.”
She added, “I have worked with male co-stars who had to drastically change their look for a film, and they were highly praised for it. The moment a woman does it through unusual hair and makeup that doesn't conform to their idealism of beauty, they think they have the right to troll you.”
Responding to many people comparing her to Cillian Murphy, Amy Jackson said that she is “over the moon” that so many people think she looks like the ‘Peaky Blinders’ star.
She said, “I'm over the moon. He's chiselled perfection. I'll get my flat cap and Brummie (Birmingham) accent ready for a Peaky Blinders comeback.”
Last week, Amy Jackson had shared a slew of pictures from a recent outing with her boyfriend and actor Ed Westwick.
Many commented that she looked similar to Thomas Shellby, the wildly popular character played by Cillian on ‘Peaky Blinders’.
“You were great in Oppenheimer,” a user said.
Another one, “Cillian Murphy hacked her id.”
A third one commented, "Thomas Shelby at Money Heist.”
A comment read, "She looks like female version of Cillian Murphy."

Talking about Amy Jackson, she made her debut with ‘Madrasapattinam’. She then went on to appear in other movies such as ‘Singh Is Bliing’, ‘Their’, ‘Ekk Deewana Tha’, ‘Gethu’, and ‘Thanga Magan’.
Amy’s last film was five years ago, with ‘2.0’. The Shankar directorial starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar went on to become a monstrous success.
She was recently in India for the shooting of her film ‘Mission: Chapter 1 - Achcham Enbathu Illaiyae’.
Meanwhile, on the personal front, Amy Jackson has been dating ‘Gossip Girl’ fame Ed Westwick.
