Anil Kapoor To Play R&AW Head In 'War 2', 'Alpha' And 'Pathaan 2': Report
As per a report, Anil Kapoor will be playing the role of R&AW head in upcoming YRF Spy Universe films such as 'War 2', 'Alpha' and 'Pathaan 2'.
Yash Raj Films' (YRF) ambitious YRF Spy Universe is quickly becoming one of the most loved franchises in India. Movies like 'Ek Tha Tiger', 'Tiger Zinda Hai', 'War', 'Pathaan', and 'Tiger 3' are a part of this franchise and the series will move ahead with the upcoming 'War 2', starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. The established Spy Universe has brought together stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham and Tiger Shroff. Soon, Alia Bhatt will also be joining the franchise as she has begun filming for 'Alpha', alongside Sharvari Wagh. In the latest entertainment news, as per a report in Pinkvilla, Aditya Chopra has now signed a multi-film deal with Anil Kapoor for the Spy Universe.

“Anil Kapoor is bowled over by the vision of Aditya Chopra for the Spy Universe and took no time to sign the dotted lines for the part. He begins his affiliation with an appearance in War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan, NTR Jr, and Kiara Advani in lead. This will be followed by the Alia Bhatt and Sharvari starrer Alpha and finally lead to the Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone film, Pathaan 2,” Pinkvilla quoted a source as saying.
Speaking of the YRF Spy Universe, the next theatrical release will be 'War 2'. The movie is slated to release in cinemas on August 15, 2025. This will be followed by Shiv Rawail directorial 'Alpha', which is the first female-led saga in the universe.
For the unversed, the YRF Spy Universe kicked off with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif-starrer 'Ek Tha Tiger' (2012) and 'Tiger Zinda Hai' (2017).
The Spy Universe then progressed further with 'War' (2019), starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff.
'Pathaan', starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham, was one of the biggest Indian hits of 2023. The last film in YRF Spy Universe was 'Tiger 3', starring Salman Khan, Emraan Hashmi, and Katrina Kaif.
