Bollywood actress Triptii Dimri, who has been basking in the success of the new Hindi movie ‘Animal’, has become the new “national crush”. While she did not have a full-fledged role in the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial, her impactful portrayal of Zoya Riaz in ‘Animal’ left everyone impressed. ‘Animal’, which released in theatres on December 1, stars Ranbir Kapoor in the lead with Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Rashmika Mandanna in key roles. Triptii Dimri, who first came into the limelight with the 2018 movie ‘Laila Majnu’, has been making headlines ever since ‘Animal’ came out.

In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Triptii Dimri revealed her parents’ reaction to her intimate scenes with Ranbir Kapoor in ‘Animal’ when they saw it on screen.

Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, the Indian actress said, “My parents got a little taken aback. They said we have never seen something like this in films and you have done it. It took them time to get over that scene. They were very sweet to me though. They were like, ‘You shouldn’t have done that but it’s okay. As parents, we will obviously feel this.’ And I told them I am not doing anything wrong.”

Triptii Dimri added, “It’s my job and as long as I am comfortable and safe, I don’t see any problem in that. I am an actor and I have to be 100 percent honest with the character that I play and I did that.”

In an earlier interview with E Times, Triptii Dimri had revealed how ‘Animal’ director Sandeep Reddy Vanga closed the set for filming the intimate scenes.

Only she and Ranbir Kapoor were on set, along with Sandeep Reddy Vanga and the movie’s cinematographer.

“Every five minutes, they were asking me, ‘Are you okay? Is there something you want?’” she said, adding that she didn’t feel uncomfortable because she was being taken care of.

Despite facing criticism for glorifying toxic masculinity in certain disturbing scenes, ‘Animal’ continues to perform extraordinarily well at the box office.

‘Animal’ minted Rs 37 crore across all languages on its Day 10 (second Sunday) in India, as per early estimates posted by industry tracker Sacnilk.

Now, the total domestic nett collection of ‘Animal’ stands at a whopping Rs 432.27 crore. The new Hindi movie has already surpassed the collection of some of the biggest hits of 2023 – ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’, ‘The Kerala Story’, and ‘Tiger 3’.

Meanwhile, Triptii Dimri will be next seen in ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’ alongside Rajkummar Rao.

The film is written and directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa. T-Series, Balaji Telefilms and Wakaoo Films in association with Thinkink Picturez are jointly bankrolling the project.
