Anupam Kher To Star In YRF Entertainment's OTT Film 'Vijay 69'
Actor Anupam Kher has been cast as a lead in YRF Entertainment's OTT film 'Vijay 69'.
Actor Anupam Kher on Thursday confirmed that he would be headlining YRF Entertainment's OTT film titled 'Vijay 69'. For the unversed, YRF Entertainment is Yash Raj Films' streaming production arm. As per Variety, 'Vijay 69' will be telling the story of a man, who decides to compete in a triathlon contest at the age of 69.
The new Hindi Bollywood movie will be directed by Akshay Roy, who had previously directed 'Meri Pyaari Bindu', starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Parineeti Chopra.
Akshay Roy had previously worked as an assistant director on Mira Nair’s 'The Namesake', Aamir Khan’s 'Taare Zameen Par' and Deepa Mehta’s 'Water'.
The movie is being produced by Maneesh Sharma, who had previously directed 'Band Baaja Baaraat'. He has earlier produced movies like 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha' and 'Sui Dhaaga: Made in India'.
He is currently directing Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer 'Tiger 3'.
'Vijay 69' is the third project from YRF Entertainment.
The first is 'The Railway Men', starring R Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyenndu Sharma and Babil Khan.
YRF Entertainment's second show is 'Mandala Murders', a multi-season series.
Vaani Kapoor would be playing a lead in the series, and this would be her OTT debut as well.
