"As Wrong As...": Shabana Azmi Says 'The Kerala Story' Should Not Be "Banned"
Shabana Azmi said those who want ‘The Kerala Story’ banned are as wrong as those who wanted to ban Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha.
Adah Sharma-starrer 'The Kerala Story' released in the theatres last Friday and the new Bollywood movie has received a good reception from the audience. The new Bollywood movie which has not gotten favourable reviews from the critics, continues to make money at the box office, and its collection is already better than Akshay Kumar's 'Selfiee' and Kartik Aaryan's 'Shehzada'. However, the latest Hindi movie continues to remain controversial as several people have hit out at its subject matter. However, veteran actress Shabana Azmi on Monday tweeted in support of the Sudipto Sen-directorial, saying once a movie has been passed by CBFC, it should not be banned.
Taking to Twitter, she wrote: "Those who speak of banning #The Kerala Story are as wrong as those who wanted to ban Aamir Khan’s #Laal Singh Chaadha (sic). Once a film has been passed by the Central Board of Film Certification nobody has the right to become an extra constitutional authority."

'The Kerala Story' has been directed by Sudipto Sen, while it is bankrolled by Vipul Amrutlal Shah.
Earlier, Kerala Congress leader MM Hassan had called for a ban on the movie, saying it can create communal disharmony.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had also accused the filmmakers of spreading propaganda.
