So, when it comes to dancing and noticing talent, it goes without saying, that Farah Khan obviously knows what she is talking about. She recently sat down for an exclusive interview on B4U show Star Stop, hosted by Salil Acharya, and it was here that she spoke on a wide variety of topics, including India’s young dancing talent, and not to forget – the current toast of Bollywood – Gadar 2.
Not many people know, Farah had trained popstar Shakira for a Bollywood version of her song 'Hips Don't Lie' for the MTV Video Music Awards.
She then also choreographed Kylie Minogue for the song 'Chiggy Wiggy' in the 2009 movie 'Blue', starring Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta, Sanjay Dutt, Katrina Kaif and Zayed Khan.
When asked to speak about the dancing talent that exists in India among the youth, Farah Khan said: "I have judged so many dance shows now. I mean, the kids, I mean, yeh kahaan se seekh rahe hai yaar? They are not even like watching it on YouTube, jab TikTok tha or Reels or they are watching these dance shows and learning."
"Small towns, small villages. Absolute talent you know. Wohi type ka talent hota hai, I mean," she added.
Farah Khan is one of the most decorated celebrities when it comes to Hindi film industry. From being a choreographer to directing Shah Rukh Khan in three movies, the 58-year-old has seen it all in her three-decade-long career in the entertainment industry.
Farah also briefly talked about the massive success that Gadar 2 has become.
"Look at what Gadar 2 is tracking at. I am so excited about it, damn good yaar, you know," said Farah Khan.
'Gadar 2', starring Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma is smashing the box-office records left, right and centre. The new Hindi movie is inching towards the Rs 400 crore mark, and it needs to be seen whether it manages to break the record of 'Pathaan' to become the highest-grossing Hindi movie of all-time in India.
When asked if there will be a 'Farah Khan 2.0', the 'Main Hoon Na' director said: "I think we all need to make a 2.0. But, we say 2.0, but I think somewhere nostalgia is also back. I mean people also want the movies that they were seeing many years ago. You should not lose what you believe in because of a trend. Trend will come and go, it has to be a balance between old and new, I think."
Farah Khan has also directed movies like 'Main Hoon Na', 'Om Shanti Om', 'Tees Maar Khan', and 'Happy New Year'.
'Main Hoon Na', 'Om Shanti Om' amd 'Happy New Year' starred Shah Rukh Khan in a leading role while 'Tees Maar Khan' had Akshay Kumar in the main role.
