Babil Khan is now back on Instagram and has issued clarification on his crying videos.

Babil Khan found himself at the centre of social media chatter after he posted a series of emotional videos on Instagram Stories, where he appeared visibly upset and named fellow actors like Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi. Shortly after, the actor deactivated his account, prompting widespread speculation. However, Babil Khan returned online with a clarification, insisting his video was deeply misunderstood. Rejoining Instagram, Babil shared a screenshot of actor Kubbra Sait’s post that featured an official statement from his family.

In his caption, he wrote, “Thank you so much. This video was extremely misinterpreted. I was trying to show support to Ananya Panday, Shanaya Kapoor, Gaurav Adarsh, Arjun Kapoor, Raghav Juyal, Arijit Singh.” He further added, “I genuinely don't have the energy to indulge more, but I do this as a responsibility for my peers that I truly admire.”

Siddhant Chaturvedi also penned a firm note aimed at online speculation and trolling, stating, “I usually never engage with s*** about me and my colleagues but this one is personal... We love to hate and hate to love, is this what we have come to? Stop looking for drama here. We’re working hard to bring drama to your screens. Shayad waha thodi kami reh gayi hogi jo aap hamari neeji zindagi mein woh dhundne lage ho. Peace out.”

Actor Harshvardhan Rane also reacted to the now-deleted videos, urging Babil Khan to stay away from "alcohol and such stuff." Adarsh Story

Meanwhile, Babil Khan’s family issued a statement clarifying that his intent was to appreciate the contribution of his peers — including Ananya, Shanaya, Siddhant, Ragha and Adarsh.

“Over the past few years, Babil Khan has earned immense love and appreciation for his work, as well as for his openness about his mental health journey. Like anyone else, Babil is allowed to have difficult days -- and this was one of them. We want to reassure all his well-wishers that he is safe and will be feeling better soon,” the statement shared by his family and team read.

A part of it read, “His mention of artists like Ananya Panday, Shanaya Kapoor, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Raghav Juyal, Adarsh Gourav, Arjun Kapoor, and Arijit Singh came from a place of genuine admiration -- for their authenticity, passion, and efforts to restore credibility and heart in the industry.”

For those unfamiliar, Babil is the son of the late Irrfan Khan and writer Sutapa Sikdar. He made his film debut with ‘Qala’ (2022), and went on to appear in ‘Friday Night Plan’ and the series ‘The Railway Men’. He was most recently seen in the cyber-thriller ‘Logout’, which is streaming on ZEE5.
