During a chat with Neha Dhupia, Bipasha Basu shared that her daughter was born with two holes in her heart.
Bipasha Basu has made a big revelation about her daughter Devi's health. For the unversed, 'Jism' actress Bipasha Basu and her husband Karan Singh Grover had welcomed baby girl Devi in November last year. During a chat with actress Neha Dhupia on Instagram Live, Bipasha Basu shared that her daughter was born with two holes in her heart. The actress then broke down as she shared how Devi had to undergo open heart surgery when she was just three months old.
Bipasha Basu further shared that on the third day after Devi’s birth, doctors had informed her and Karan about Devi having two holes in her heart.
The doctors also told the parents that the best time to get the surgery done would be when Devi is three months old.
“You feel so sad, burdened, and conflicted because how can you put such a small child in an open heart surgery,” Bipasha said, controlling her tears.
“The first time we did the scan, it didn’t happen. The next month it didn’t. When we went for the third month, I pretty much had done the research, spoken to surgeons, doctors and been to hospitals,” Bipasha added.

“I knew she had to be okay. I knew she would be okay. And today, she is okay. It was about getting the operation done at the right time, right place," said Bipasha.
“But if you love your child, you must do it however difficult (it can be). It’s for the future of your child. Devi had a very successful operation, and I never had a doubt about it. But the six hours that she was in the OT, my life felt like it stopped," she added.
Bipasha Basu further said that her husband Karan Singh Grover was a mess throughout the process.
“Karan was a mess, and I had to even throw him out of the ICU sometimes. When I saw her in the ICU first time with all the monitors and a dressing bandage in the middle of her chest, she was lying there as a hero. Devi is our brave heart and very powerful," said Bipasha.
“Yes, she has a scar on her chest and it’s her badge of honour. Knowing she’s my daughter, she would flaunt it and wear low cleavage,” she added.
Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover keep on sharing photos and videos of their daughter, but they are yet to show her face to the world.
Earlier in an interview, Bipasha and Karan said that they were planning to have a baby in 2019 itself but the COVID-19 pandemic changed their plans.
