“Even If My Throat Is Cut…”: Bobby Deol Discusses Fan Theories About His Character In ‘Animal’, Talks About Sequel
Bobby Deol recently opened up about the many fan theories on his character in ‘Animal’. He also talked about the sequel ‘Animal Park’.
The world cannot stop talking about Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s latest directorial ‘Animal’. The new Hindi movie, which released on December 1, stars Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role with Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Triptii Dimri in key roles. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial has been generating polarizing views for its problematic and misogynistic content. Given the constant chatter around the film, it is safe to say that you might love ‘Animal’ or hate it, but you definitely can’t ignore it. In case, you haven’t watched the movie and don’t want any spoilers, please don’t read ahead.
Now that we have gotten the mandatory warning out of the way, we can report that ‘Animal’ has a post-credits scene, hinting towards a sequel named ‘Animal Park’. And by the looks of the post-credits scene, it looks like the sequel will be even more violent and gory than ‘Animal’.
In the post-credits scene, Bobby’s character’s brother gets a plastic surgery to look like Ranbir’s character and vows to get revenge against his brother’s killer.
Recently, Bobby Deol spoke about the sequel in a chat with News18 Showsha. Bobby Deol, who played a ruthless antagonist named Abrar in ‘Animal’, told the media outlet, “It will take a few years for it to be constructed. I don’t know which animals will be there in it are but I truly hope I am (chuckles).”
While Bobby Deol only had a 15-minute role in the 3-hour-20-minute film, his fans can’t seem to stop talking about his powerful appearance in the movie.
Even though Bobby’s character Abrar dies at the end of the film, fans are coming up with theories that can lead to his character being revived in the next film, or the possibility of him starring in a spin-off.
Bobby Deol addressed these fans theories in the interview with News18 Showsha and said that if Ranbir Kapoor’s character can come back after getting his heart replaced, his character could come back too.
One of the fan theories suggested that Bobby Deol might have a twin and we might see that character in the next movie.
“People have already made up that he has twins in the end, and they are saying that you can have twins only when you have a twin. So they think I might have a twin. Or maybe they just bring me back. Ranbir’s heart was replaced so even if my throat is cut, maybe I’ll still come back. So all these kinds of theories are coming out,” he said.
On being asked about the possibility of a spin-off project, Bobby Deol said that he has not discussed it with Sandeep Reddy Vanga yet but he would love to work with the filmmaker again.
Bobby Deol shared, “I would love to work with him again and again. I love that man. He’s an amazing guy and an awesome director. He’s so humble. He has so much conviction when he makes films. That’s why the reaction around us is so real. But I do really hope that he directs me again.”
Talking about ‘Animal’, the movie has wreaked havoc at the box office as it has made more than Rs 300 crore in India in just 6 days of its release.
For the unversed, ‘Animal’ has gotten an 'A' (adults only) certificate and it is also facing competition from Vicky Kaushal's ‘Sam Bahadur’ at the box office.
