Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan have starred in several movies together, and fans just love their on-screen chemistry. Deepika Padukone had made her Bollywood debut with SRK's 'Om Shanti Om' in 2007. After that, the duo appeared in movies like 'Chennai Express', 'Happy New Year', and 'Pathaan'. Deepika Padukone also features in a special appearance in SRK's latest release 'Jawan'. Despite having just a 20-minute role in the film, Deepika Padukone managed to leave a lasting impression.

In the latest entertainment news, in an interview with The Week, Deepika Padukone has opened up on her role in 'Jawan' and the bond she shares with Shah Rukh Khan.

When asked whether she charges anything for doing cameo appearances, Deepika Padukone said: "No, I don’t. I wanted to be a part of 83 because I wanted it to be an ode to women who stand behind their husbands’ glory. I watched my mother do it. This was my homage to wives who make sacrifices to support their husbands’ careers. Other than that, any special appearance for Shah Rukh Khan, I am there. Same with Rohit Shetty.”

Deepika Padukone also opened up on her bond with Shah Rukh Khan, and said that the success of their movies is beyond the "luck" factor.

“We are each other’s lucky charm. But honestly, we are beyond luck. We have a sense of ownership over each other," said Deepika Padukone.

“I am one of the few people he is vulnerable with. There is so much trust and respect, and I think that luck is just the cherry on the top,” she added.

Talking about 'Jawan', the movie is nearing the Rs 350 crore mark in just the Hindi version, and it is expected to cross the mark later this week.

Earlier this year, Deepika Padukone, SRK and John Abraham-starrer 'Pathaan' collected Rs 543 crore in India, becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film in the country.

Talking about the success of 'Pathaan', Deepika said: "I’ve never been fascinated by numbers whether it was Maths in school or the numbers of Pathaan. I was just happy that cinemas had come alive again, that people had come alive again. I was really grateful for that.”

The actress will next be seen in Siddharth Anand's 'Fighter' alongside Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor. The movie is slated to release in theatres on January 25, 2024.
