'Jawan' starring Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani and Sunil Grover has emerged as a massive success story at the box office. Globally, the movie has earned more than Rs 600 crore in just six days. Actress Ridhi Dogra is also winning praise for her performance in the film. For the unversed, Ridhi Dogra played the role of adoptive mother of Shah Rukh Khan's character in the Atlee-directorial.
In the latest entertainment news, Ridhi Dogra has spoken about her experience working in 'Jawan', and she also shared a heartwarming anecdote from the set that showed Deepika Padukone's kindness and generosity. For the unversed, Deepika had a special appearance in 'Jawan'.
Ridhi Dogra revealed that the day Deepika Padukone arrived for her shoot, she came along with her entire team and they gathered behind the monitor. To respect Deepika's privacy, Ridhi Dogra initially chose to sit behind her. Howver, Deepika moved her chair to sit alongside Ridhi.
“Deeply touched by her solidarity and gratitude that we are actors together," Ridhi told Zoom.
In 'Jawan', Ridhi Dogra played the role of Kaveri, a jailer and the adoptive mother of SRK's character Azad.
In an interview with India Today, she had previously said: "I’ll be honest, I was very nervous about taking this up, but I didn’t know any better. I didn’t understand if I should do it, or I should not do it. The only thing I saw in it was that it was challenging for me. That’s the only thing that pushed me to do it.”
Domestically, ‘Jawan’ is inching closer to the Rs 350 crore mark. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the action thriller minted Rs 26.50 crore nett in India on its sixth day after its release. The current numbers take the total business of ‘Jawan’ in all languages, in India, to Rs 345.58 crore.
‘Jawan’ released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Besides SRK, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, it also stars Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, Priyamani, Ridhi Dogra, Ashlesha Thakur, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Girija Oak, Lehar Khan and Aaliyah Qureishi.
The film is a mass entertainer and features SRK in double roles. ‘Jawan’ focuses on the journey of a man who sets out to correct the wrongs of the society with the help of a group of women.
Shah Rukh Khan, who made a comeback in 2023 with his first film of the year ‘Pathaan’, will be next seen in Rajkumar Hirani's ‘Dunki’. It stars him with Taapsee Pannu for the first time.
