Indian actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh recently made a striking debut at the biggest fashion event of the year – the Met Gala. Attending alongside Bollywood heavyweights Shah Rukh Khan and Kiara Advani, much of the pre-event buzz centred around King Khan’s anticipated appearance. However, by the end of the night, it was Diljit Dosanjh who stole the show. The Punjabi actor-singer not only turned heads but also earned the title of best-dressed celebrity at the Met Gala 2025, according to a Vogue poll.

In a conversation with BBC Asian Network, Diljit Dosanjh fondly recalled a heart-warming gesture from Priyanka Chopra Jonas that left a lasting impression on him.

“When I went to my table, there was another Sardaar boy who helped me a lot. I didn’t know anyone there. I hadn’t been to any parties before. But he came to my table and served me everything. He was actually serving food there,” Diljit Dosanjh said.

Speaking about Priyanka Chopra's gesture, Diljit said, “Thanks to Priyanka Chopra Main jab gaya toh voh vahan the already and Priyanka also came to me and said, 'Diljit main idhar hi bethi hun, tereko kisi bhi cheez k zarurat ho just say PC and main jldi se aajaungi.' Aur mera tabhi mann bharr aaya tha.”

For the unversed, Priyanka Chopra attended the Met Gala 2025 with Nick Jonas. The duo had also clicked pictures with Diljit Dosanjh during the event.

Speaking of Diljit Dosanjh, the actor is currently awaiting the release of his upcoming film ‘Sardaar Ji 3’. The film has been facing backlash after casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in it.

The movie is set to hit theatres internationally on June 27, skipping an India release. Diljit has been facing scathing criticism for working with Hania Aamir in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack.

Speaking to the BBC Asian Network, Diljit said, “Jab yeh film bani thi tab situation sab theek tha. We shot this in Feb and then everything was fine. Uske baad, bhut saari badi cheezen humare haath mein nahi hai. Toh producers ne decide kiya ki film obviously ab India toh nahi lagegi, toh overseas release karte hain. Toh producers ka bahut paisa laga hua hai aur jab yeh film bann rahi thi tab aisa kuch tha nahi.”
