Diljit Dosanjh has shared a glimpse from 'Border 2' shooting.

In today’s age of social media speculation and instant outrage, casting rumours can gain momentum faster than facts. Over the past few days, whispers about Diljit Dosanjh being dropped from the much-awaited war drama ‘Border 2’ had taken over the internet. The reason? His involvement in the recently released 'Sardaar Ji 3', which also stars Pakistani actor Hania Aamir. But Diljit has now silenced the chatter in the most direct way possible – by sharing a behind-the-scenes video straight from the 'Border 2' set.

On Wednesday, Diljit Dosanjh took to Instagram to post a video that clearly confirms his continued association with the film. He captioned the post simply: “BORDER 2.”

Check out the video here:

The clip opens with him stepping out of his vanity van dressed in military uniform, as he walks towards the set. The visuals then shift to a dance rehearsal, where Diljit Dosanjh is seen actively participating with the background dancers. The familiar tune of Border’s emotional anthem ‘Ke Ghar Kab Aaoge’ plays in the background, making the message loud and clear – he’s very much part of the sequel.

Fans quickly flooded the comments section with support, with producer Guneet Monga dropping a heart emoji. One user wrote, “@diljitdosanjh on top always,” while another echoed the sentiment, saying, “Still on top.”

The controversy stemmed from Sardaar Ji 3's overseas release on June 27. Due to the inclusion of Hania Aamir, the film was not released in India and faced backlash, especially in the wake of India-Pakistan tensions following the Pahalgam terror attack and India’s Operation Sindoor in April and May, respectively.

This led to unverified reports suggesting that Diljit might be replaced in 'Border 2' by Ammy Virk. However, a source close to the production told Hindustan Times, “There is no plan to replace or remove Diljit from Border 2. His casting was confirmed nearly nine months ago, long before the recent unfortunate incidents. Nearly half the film has already been shot, and any replacement at this stage would be logistically unfeasible.”

Directed by Anurag Singh, ‘Border 2’ is the long-awaited sequel to the 1997 war classic 'Border'. The new film stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Diljit Dosanjh, who joined the project in September 2023.
