"We Have A Lot To...": Emraan Hashmi On Differences In Bollywood And South Industry
Emraan Hashmi said that filmmakers down south are way more disciplined than the directors in the Hindi film industry.
Actor Emraan Hashmi was last seen in 'Tiger 3', alongside Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. In the Hindi film, Emraan Hashmi plays the main antagonist, and the actor gained massive praise for his performance as the main villain. The actor is currently gearing up for the release of his OTT series 'Showtime', and after that, he will also be seen in the Telugu film 'OG'. In 'OG', Emraan Hashmi will be playing the negative lead, opposite Pawan Kalyan. In the latest entertainment news, in an interview with Times of India, Emraan Hashmi said that filmmakers down south are way more disciplined than the directors in the Hindi film industry.
“I think South filmmakers are way more disciplined than we are (in Hindi cinema). Every penny that they spend on their film shows on screen. I think we often spend money in the wrong areas in Hindi films, and it doesn’t eventually translate on screen," said Emraan Hashmi.
"They have finesse in their films when it comes to VFX, the scale, and the choice of path-breaking stories. We have some ground to cover before we can match that, and we have a lot to learn from the way they make films," he added.
For the unversed, 'OG' will be Emraan Hashmi's Telugu film debut.
Talking about the film earlier, he had said in a statement, "I am excited to embark on this new journey with OG. The movie has a strong and gripping script and it offers me a challenging role that I am looking forward to working with Pawan Kalyan sir, Sujeeth, Danayya sir, and the team. I am confident that we will create a memorable cinematic experience for the audience.”
On the work front, Emraan Hashmi is also rumoured to be in talks for Adivi Sesh’s 'G2', which will be a sequel to the 2018 film 'Goodachari.
Emraan Hashmi is also slated to have an extended cameo in Sara Ali Khan's upcoming Hindi film 'Ae Watan Mere Watan'. The film will be releasing on Prime Video in March 2024.
