"Google Kar…": Diljit Dosanjh Slams Trolls For Misinterpreting His Coachella Comment
Diljit Dosanjh recently made history as he became the first Indian artist to perform at Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California.
Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh recently made history as he became the first Indian artist to perform at Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California. The 'G.O.A.T' singer performed twice during the festival and attendees were in awe by his performance. As he concluded his second performance, Diljit Dosanjh pointed at a girl in the audience who was holding the Indian flag, and he said in Punjabi: "Eh mere Punjabi bhain bhraawan layi, mere desh da jhanda laike khadi aa kudi, eh mere desh layi, negativity ton bacho, music saareyan da saanjha."
When one translates this message to English, it roughly means: "This girl is carrying my country’s flag, for all my Punjabi brothers and sisters, this is for my country. Stay away from negativity, music belongs to everyone."
However, as soon as the video of the same surfaced on the internet, some trolls twisted his words, saying that the singer accused a girl of inciting hatred by waving the Indian flag.
Now, Diljit Dosanjh has taken to Twitter to slam the trolls, saying there is no need to spread negativity and fake news.
“DON’T SPREAD FAKE NEWS & NEGATIVITY. Mai Kiha Eh Mere Desh Da Jhanda Hai 🇮🇳 Eh Mere Desh Lai.. Means MERI Eh Performance Mere desh Lai . Earlier, politician Manjinder Singh Sira had also come out in support of Diljit Dosanjh, saying: "It would be better if @pun_fact starts posting complete video.@diljitdosanjh dedicated this concert to India and Punjab. He said “eh mere Punjabi bhain bhraawan layi, mere desh da jhanda laike khadi aa kudi, eh mere desh layi, negativity ton bacho, music saareyan da saanjha” It’s shameful that some handles are creating a negative agenda and spreading hatred."
