Actor Abhimanyu Singh had collaborated with director Anurag Kashyap back in the day for uber-popular film 'Gulaal'. In the latest entertainment news, the actor has now recalled how the director had gotten into an altercation with a local cop, who refused to let them shoot. Abhimanyu Singh then talked about how the cop had become disrespectful, and it was then that Anurag Kashyap started abusing the officer. For the unversed, 'Gulaal' had released in 2009 and the movie also starred Raj Singh Chaudhary, Kay Kay Menon, Deepak Dobriyal and Piyush Mishra.
“This was a dangerous incident, and I don’t know if I should tell this story. During Gulaal, a production controller had bribed a policeman to allow us to film for 30 minutes one evening. That policeman’s shift ended and he left with the money. Another cop took his place. The new cop was aggressive, maybe he was in a bad mood. He told us to get out, and disrespected us," Abhimanyu Singh said in a conversation with The Lallantop.
The actor then spoke about how the 'Gulaal' crew stepped out of the station and decided to abandon the scene altogether. And then the cop saw them coming outside, and he started yelling again.
“He yelled at us again, called us names, told us to leave. And that’s all it took for Anurag to blow his lid. He started abusing the police officer to his face. The officer retreated into the station, and we followed him. An assistant tried to restrain Anurag, but he pushed him away. Inside the station, he started abusing all the policemen. Things became so heated that a couple of cops began taking out guns," said Abhimanyu Singh.
"I was in costume, and the cops probably thought I was some local goon who couldn’t be messed with. Finally, Anurag taunted them, and said, ‘Shoot me, I want to see if you can shoot me’. He threatened to call the media, and the cops eventually gave up, thinking that he is mad," he added.
Abhimanyu Singh then also talked about how he heard a loud bang in the hotel room of Anurag Kashyap.
“Anurag had punched a wall in anger and broken three fingers. On the cast, he wrote in his own blood, ‘Gulaal’. Every word of this is true,” Abhimanyu said.
