Himesh Reshammiya’s father Vipin Reshammiya, has died aged 87.
Himesh Reshammiya’s father and music director Vipin Reshammiya has died aged 87. The music director passed away on Wednesday night in Mumbai. As per several reports, Vipin Reshammiya was facing breathing issues and age-related health problems. He was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. In the latest entertainment news, Vanita Thapar, a close friend of the Reshammiya family, confirmed the development to The Times of India.
She shared that Vipin Reshammiya passed away at 8:30 PM and called herself "more like family” to Himesh’s family.
“I used to call him (Vipin) papa since the time he was making TV serials," said Vanita.
Vipin Reshammiya’s last rites will be performed on Thursday in Juhu, as per the report in The Times of India.
For the unversed, Vipin Reshammiya played an instrumental role in introducing his son Himesh to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in the 1990s.
This then started a long association between Himesh and Salman. Himesh made music for the actor in films like 'Hum Le Jayenge', 'Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye', and 'Tere Naam', among many others.
In 2021, Himesh had also shared a video of himself on Instagram to reveal that his father had composed a song with late singers Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar, which could never see the light of day.
He also promised to soon release the song.
Sharing the video, Himesh wrote, "I feel that it’s one of the finest classic melodies of all time which should come out in the market for all music lovers and I will be bringing the song out in the market soon, my dad had composed it with a lot of love and I’m happy that this song will be coming out soon for all of you , give it all your love when it comes out and you hear it ,we shot for the Kishore Kumar 100 songs special this week and the very talented singers of #indianidol sang beautifully like always lots of love.”
