Shahid Kapoor's 'Bloody Daddy' is streaming for free on JioCinema. Director Vivek Agnihotri has questioned the idea, saying "Bollywood is celebrating its own destruction".
Shahid Kapoor's new Hindi movie titled 'Bloody Daddy' has released on JioCinema and the Ali Abbas Zafar-directorial is streaming for free. The new Hindi movie has opened to mixed reviews, however, in the latest entertainment news, 'The Kashmir Files' director Vivek Agnihotri questioned the makers of the movie, on why they have decided to show a movie, allegedly made on a budget of Rs 200 crore, for free on a streaming platform.
The director shared a newspaper commercial of the Shahid Kapoor-starrer, and said "Bollywood is celebrating its own destruction."
"Why would anyone show a 200 cr film for free? What’s this insane business model? Sad news is that Bollywood is celebrating its own destruction," Vivek Agnihotri tweeted.

In 'Bloody Daddy', Shahid Kapoor is playing the role of an NCB officer who manages to crackdown a drug deal with his team in Gurugram. However, this results in drug lord Sikandar, played by Ronit Roy, kidnapping Shahid Kapoor's son. How the plot unfolds from there, for that, you will need to see the new Hindi movie.
Apart from Shahid Kapoor, the new Hindi movie also stars Sanjay Kapoor, Ronit Roy, Diana Penty and Rajeev Khandelwal.
'Bloody Daddy' has been majorly shot in Delhi and Gurugram. The new Hindi movie was filmed in 36 days amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Earlier, Shahid Kapoor, who had made his Bollywood debut with the 2003 film ‘Ishq Vishk’, spoke about venturing into Hollywood while promoting his upcoming movie ‘Bloody Daddy’.
In a new interview with News18 Showsha, Shahid Kapoor said that if he is offered a Tamil, Telugu or Malayalam movie he will do it if it satisfies him as an actor.
Shahid Kapoor said, “I have worked here for 20 years so I love my fraternity and I love our films. I feel very comfortable here. Having said that, I’m here to do good work. So on one hand you’re saying Hollywood, I’ll say the reverse thing… If somebody offers me a Tamil, Telugu or Malayalam movie and if I feel there’s a great role to do and it will satisfy me as an actor, I’ll go do that... If you are chasing performance and calibre, I wouldn’t want to go to Hollywood and do some trash. That’s not what I would want to do."
