IPL 2024: Shah Rukh Khan was left heartbroken as KKR stumbled to a narrow two-wicket loss against Rajasthan Royals.

Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan was left heartbroken as his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) stumbled to a narrow two-wicket loss against Rajasthan Royals at the Eden Gardens on Tuesday night. Rajasthan Royals' batter Jos Buttler came on as an impact sub and he played an unbeaten knock of 107 runs to help Rajasthan Royals chase down the target of 224 runs.

Several pictures and videos are now going viral on social media, which showcase a teary-eyed SRK after the loss of KKR against Rajasthan Royals. The 'Jawan' star was seen sitting in the stands with a pall of gloom on his face.

However, after the match came to an end, SRK was seen meeting the players of both KKR and RR. He embraced each player, trying to boost their morale.

After the win, SRK went to the dressing room of KKR to deliver a speech to further boost the morale of his players.

"There are days in our lives, in sports especially, when we don't deserve to lose. And there are days when we don't deserve to win, but days are like that. Today, we didn't deserve to lose, I think all of us played extremely well. We have to be very very proud of ourselves, please don't feel sad or down, feel as happy as we feel when we come to this changing room," SRK said in his speech.

"Maintain the high, we have great energy on the field. So please continue so. GG (Gautam Gambhir) you don't feel down. We would all be bouncing back, it's god's plan for today," he added.

SRK's words also brought a smile on the face of KKR's mentor Gautam Gambhir.

Earlier, Sunil Narine had scored his first IPL century to help KKR post more than 220 runs on the board. The match between KKR and RR was also attended by 'Pathaan' director Siddharth Anand and former India women's cricketer Jhulan Goswami.

KKR will next face Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Sunday, April 21 at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
