Reportedly, T-Series is going to back the project and it will be 'Adipurush' actress Kriti Sanon who will play the iconic role. Talking about Meena Kumari, the actress is known as one of the finest to grace Hindi cinema.
She was popularly known as The Tragedy Queen and she was an active actress between 1939 and 1972.
In a career that spanned 33 years, Meena Kumari starred in about 90 films. She passed away at the age of 38 years from cirrhosis of the liver, which has been associated with her alcoholism.
In her career, Meena Kumari won four Filmfare Awards in the Best Actress category.
Talking about Kriti Sanon, the actress was last seen in 'Adipurush' which also starred Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan.
She will next be seen in 'The Crew' alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu, Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma.
