Good news for Priyanka Chopra Jonas fans! For everyone who has been waiting to see our ‘desi girl’ in an Indian movie, we have a fresh update. In 2021, Farhan Akhtar announced a movie titled ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ focusing on female friendships with three of the biggest actresses – Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif. However, in the latest Bollywood gossip, it was recently reported that Priyanka Chopra had to quit the Hindi movie. But looks like all those were just rumours as producer and writer of ‘Jee Le Zaraa’, Reema Kagti, recently refuted the reports.
In a new interview with PTI, Reema Kagti confirmed that the project is set to go on floors with its original trio, much to the delight of fans who had been awaiting an update.
During a previous interview, co-producer and writer Zoya Akhtar also brushed aside the rumours suggesting that ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ had been shelved. She explained that they are simply waiting for the schedules of the leading actresses to align before moving forward.
Throughout the promotions of their different films, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif have assured fans that 'Jee Le Zaraa' is in the works.
In the latest Bollywood celebrity gossip, ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ was supposed to mark Farhan Akhtar’s return to direction after ‘Don 2’ (2011). It was announced on the 20th anniversary of Farhan's directorial debut ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ in August 2021.
Fans were instantly excited to see a movie on film friendships from Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar after their hit movies ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ and ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’.
But looks like Farhan Akhtar will mark his directorial return with ‘Don 3’ instead. Ranveer Singh was recently announced as the new Don, replacing Shah Rukh Khan with a promo video.
Meanwhile, Zoya Akhtar is back as the creator and director of ‘Made in Heaven’ Season 2 along with Reema Kagti. The series is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
