Singer Kailash Kher has revealed that he had recorded a song for Shah Rukh Khan's 'Chalte Chalte', but he was never informed about a replacement. He then said that he ended up discovering later that his version was not used in the 2003-film which also starred Rani Mukerji. Kailash Kher made this revelation while speaking to Bollywood Thikana.

Kailash Kher then said that he was called to sing a song for a film that Javed Akhtar was writing and Aziz Mirza was directing.

"Gaana bhi ek dum aise pehelwani type ka. It took a lot of effort to sing it. I was pretty happy, so I told my sister that I sang for a Shah Rukh Khan film. But when the first audio CD of the film came, it didn’t have the name Kailash Kher. It had someone else’s name. That is when I got the first setback. I thought, ‘Bade aadmi bhi choti harkat kar sakte hain. They made another singer sing the song," Kailash Kher said, as reported by Hindustan Times.

The singer then spoke about how this particular incident taught him to never get too attached to the film industry.

"Javed saab said ‘Iski alag khusboo aur chamak hai, ye apni pehchan bahut tagde mein banane wala hai. He will become famous one day," said Kailash Kher.

Kailash Kher is a famous singer and he is known for popular tracks like 'Teri Deewani', 'Allah Ke Bande', and 'Chand Sifarish' among others.

Talking about 'Chalte Chalte', the movie featured SRK, Rani Mukerji,  Satish Shah, Lilette Dubey, Johnny Lever, Jas Arora, and Vishwajeet Pradhan.

The movie featured songs written by Javed Akhtar and Babu Singh Maan.

Alka Yagnik, Sonu Nigam, Udit Narayan, Preeti & Pinky, and Sukhwinder Singh sang songs in the film.
