"Most Offensive": Karan Johar Schools Troll Who Suggested Him To Bring "Bahu" For His Mother As "Time Pass"
Karan Johar hit back at a troll who suggested he bring a "bahu" home as "time pass" for his mother, Hiroo Johar.
Director and producer Karan Johar, who delivered a hit in the form of 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' and returned with an all-new season of his popular chat show 'Koffee With Karan', has a love-hate relationship with the internet. The ace filmmaker is often subjected to vicious trolling on social media, and this is the main reason why he deleted his X (formerly Twitter) account last year. Karan Johar is often also trolled for being a "‘flag bearer" of nepotism and for his sexuality.
Karan Johar has now developed a thick skin, and he, most often than not, ignores his trolls. However, on Thursday, the director hit back at a troll who suggested he bring a "bahu" home as a "time pass" for his mother, Hiroo Johar.
The filmmaker shared a screenshot of a comment he received on social media. It read, "Bahu Iaa do maa ko time pass nahi hota hoga."
This particular comment did not sit well with Karan Johar, fondly known as KJo, and he schooled the troll about a girl not being a "time pass" to her mother-in-law.
Taking to Instagram Stories, he wrote, "Of all the crazy trolls, the abuse and judgement I get about my life choices and my way of being I find comments like these the most offensive …. Firstly no “bahu” should be a time pass for anyone’s mother … a bahu is a label which comes with ridiculous regressive baggage… she is an individual in her own right and can pass her time how she likes personally and professionally.”
“To everyone, I would like to add my mother co-parents my children with me and doesn’t need any ‘time pass’ … her life is complete by the love we receive from her and do our best to give it back with all our heart! And bringing in a ‘balm’ is not an option to whoever is concerned about my relationship status," he added.

Karan Johar concluded that if he ever gets married and brings his life partner home, he would do so to fill the void in his life.
"My children are blessed to have my mother guide us all… and in life, if I were to have a partner I would do so to fill my void, not anyone else’s! Thank you for listening," KJo wrote.
Meanwhile, on the work front, KJo is currently busy hosting the eighth season of 'Koffee With Karan'. The latest episode featured Saif Ali Khan and his mother-veteran actress Sharmila Tagore.
His last directorial venture 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani' featured Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan.
The Hindi film turned out to be a hit at the box office, as it made more than Rs 350 crore worldwide. The 2023 Bollywood film was also well-received by the critics.
