Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan's relatives Manoj Chansoria and Anita Chansoria are among the 16 people who have died in the hoarding collapse in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar area. For the unversed, the hoarding collapsed on Monday, following a severe dust storm in Mumbai. As per Indian Express, the bodies of Manoj Chansoria and Anita Chansoria were recovered two days later on Wednesday. The same report states that the bodies were recovered in "almost decomposed" state. Kartik Aaryan's relatives were in Mumbai to get visa for the USA, as their son Yash resides there.
As per The Indian Express, the bodies of the duo was found after their son realised that the phones of their parents were out of reach and it was then that he contacted local friends and authorities.
The last rites of the couple took place in Mumbai, and it was also attended by Kartik Aaryan.
The couple's bodies were found in their car, which was squashed under a 250-tonne hoarding that collapsed following thunderous winds on Monday.
"As soon as he realised that his parents were missing on Monday, their son boarded a flight from the United States. Their final rites were conducted at a crematorium in Sahar on Thursday,” a family friend told Indian Express.
The same report cited another official who told the publication that the couple's car was "almost flattened due to the weight and pressure of the girder.”
For the unversed, 16 people died in this incident where the illegal hoarding collapsed on the road.
The police have already arrested Bhavesh Prabhudas Bhinde, the owner of the hoarding.
On the work front, Kartik Aaryan will next be seen in Kabir Khan's 'Chandu Champion'. The trailer for the film was slated to be released on Saturday in Gwalior.
However, it is not known, whether the event will go on as planned or not. 'Chandu Champion' is slated to be released in cinemas on June 14, 2024.
