Kartik Aaryan Unveils His First Look From Kabir Khan’s ‘Chandu Champion’, Says Proud To Play “Real Hero”

Kartik Aaryan, who has cemented his place in the entertainment industry, was last seen in the 2023 Bollywood movie ‘SatyaPrem Ki Katha’ co-starring Kiara Advani. The film received positive reviews from the critics and viewers alike and went on to perform well at the box office. Amid the success of ‘SatyaPrem Ki Katha’, Kartik Aaryan started shooting for his next film ‘Chandu Champion’. And now, his first look from the Kabir Khan directorial is finally out. The movie is said to a sports biopic but the makers are yet to declare the sports icon the film is based on.

The first look, shared by Kartik Aaryan on his Instagram account, shows him in a blazer sporting a short haircut with a few bruises on his face. Kartik Aaryan also expressed his happiness on playing a
“real hero”. He also shared that he has completed the film’s first shoot schedule in London.

In the caption, he wrote, “When INDIA is written on your chest, it’s a DIFFERENT feeling. Proud to be playing a Real Hero. A Man Who Refuses To Give Up. #ChanduChampion #FirstLook.”

As per reports, the film is rumoured to be the biopic of Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medalist.

Chandu Champion’ went on floors with its mahurat shot in London in the presence of Sajid and Warda Nadiadwala along with Kabir Khan and Kartik Aaryan present at the location.

The new Hindi movie, which reunites Kartik with Sajid Nadiadwala after ‘SatyaPrem Ki Katha’, will release on June 14, 2024.

‘Chandu Champion’, billed as the true story of a man who refused to surrender, marks Kartik Aaryan's maiden collaboration with Kabir Khan. It will serve as yet another Eid release for Kartik Aaryan as Eid-al-Adha will fall on June 16, 2024.

Kabir Khan made his Bollywood debut with ‘Kabul Express’ (2006), a film set in Afghanistan, starring John Abraham and Arshad Warsi. He then went on to direct movies like ‘New York’, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, ‘Phantom’ and ‘Tubelight’.

The director also made his digital debut with the web series ‘The Forgotten Army’, starring Sunny Kaushal and Sharvari on Amazon Prime Video. Kabir Khan's last release was the period sports drama ‘83’ in 2021.

‘83’, based on Indian cricket team's victory in the 1983 World Cup, starred Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev and Deepika Padukone as his wife Romi Dev among others.

Coming back to Kartik Aaryan, he has a few other films in his kitty including the next installment of the ‘Aashiqui’ franchise. He was previously announced as the lead hero in Hansal Mehta’s ‘Captain India’.
