“Just Astounded”: Katrina Kaif Heaps Praise On Vicky Kaushal’s Performance In Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Sam Bahadur’
Katrina Kaif penned a heartfelt note for her husband Vicky Kaushal, praising his performance in the new Hindi movie ‘Sam Bahadur’.
Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif, who has been basking in the success of her latest release ‘Tiger 3’, has posted a heartfelt note for her actor-husband Vicky Kaushal’s new Hindi movie titled ‘Sam Bahadur’. For the unversed, the biopic on the life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw released in theatres on Friday, December 1. Katrina Kaif watched the film at a recent screening in Mumbai earlier this week. And in her review, she said that ‘Sam Bahadur’ “transported” her to a different era. She also lauded Vicky Kaushal's “flawless” performance.
In her Instagram post, Katrina Kaif also said that Vicky Kaushal has delivered a performance that will be remembered.
“SAM BAHADUR – @meghnagulzar such a poetic beautiful classic film , was transported to another era .. you can see your passion to telling his story and attention to detail in every shot. And SAM !!!!….. GRACE, HEROISM , GRIT. I’ve seen you this last year pour yourself into this film and transform into sam. A performance to be remembered,” Katrina Kaif wrote.

Talking about ‘Sam Bahadur’, the film is facing competition from Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol-starrer ‘Animal’, as it has also released on the same day.
‘Sam Bahadur’ managed to sell 1,03,192 tickets across India for the opening day, grossing Rs 3.05 crore. Now, it remains to be seen how much money both the new Hindi movie manages to make on the opening day.
In an interview with Ranveer Allahbadia, Vicky Kaushal stated how director Meghna Gulzar was like a “hawk” on the sets of the film as Indian Army is very particular about their representation.
“Whenever I would interact with the Army, they would be very encouraging, show a lot of faith and give a lot of love. But they would always end the conversation saying, ‘You better do a good job, he was our best man.’ That would always scare me a little bit,” he said.
Apart from Vicky Kaushal, ‘Sam Bahadur’ also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Neeraj Kabi and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.
‘Sam Bahadur’ is Vicky Kaushal's third release of 2023 after the hit ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’ and the box office dud ‘The Great Indian Family’.
The actor will next be seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunki’ alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu and Boman Irani.
