Kiara Advani To Star Alongside Ranveer Singh In Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 3’
Kiara Advani will be playing the female lead in Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 3’, co-starring Ranveer Singh.
Kiara Advani, who made her acting debut with the 2014 film ‘Fugly’, rose to fame with the hit movie ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’. She has since showcased her acting chops in movies like ‘Kabir Singh’, ‘Good Newwz’, ‘Shershaah’, ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’, and more. In 2023, Kiara Advani bowled everyone over with her performance in ‘SatyaPrem Ki Katha’. In the film, she played the role of a woman who is sexually assaulted by her boyfriend, and this sensitive portrayal won her a lot of praise. Kiara Advani has now bagged possibly the biggest role of her career so far.
Yes, you read that right! On Tuesday morning, it was confirmed that Kiara Advani will be starring in ‘Don 3’, which will star Ranveer Singh as the male lead. The film will be directed by Farhan Akhtar.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Kiara Advani wrote, “Thrilled to be part of the iconic Don franchise and to be working with this incredible team! Seeking all your love and support as we set out on this exciting journey together.”

It has not been confirmed what role Kiara will be playing in the film, but if one has watched previous Don films, it can be expected that Kiara Advani will be playing the role of Roma.
In the Amitabh Bachchan-starrer 'Don', the character of Roma was played by Zeenat Aman, while the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Don' and 'Don 2', starred Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Roma.
Earlier, the makers of 'Don 3' had faced severe backlash when they announced the casting of Ranveer Singh as the lead character. Shah Rukh Khan fans were miffed that their beloved superstar was not coming back for the third installment of the super popular franchise.
However, on ‘Koffee With Karan 8’, Ranveer Singh had addressed this backlash, saying, “Ek chance dedo, 12-13 saal me theek thaak hi kaam kiya hai maine, toh ek mauka toh banta hai.”
Earlier, filmmaker and actor Farhan Akhtar, who the director of ‘Don 3’, had also addressed the criticism of Ranveer Singh being chosen as the next ‘Don’.
"Ranveer is amazing. He’s great for the part. He’s also, as you can imagine, really excited and really nervous, about the thing you’re filling some big shoes before you. But we went through the same emotional process when Shah Rukh did it and everyone was like ‘Oh my God, how can you replace Mr. Bachchan?.’That whole thing happened then," Farhan Akhtar told BBC Asian Network.
“It really is about an actor coming in and owning the part and making it really like, giving it their style and their flair. And he has that, he has that in spades. So, he is going to do a great job. I think the responsibility is more mine now to make sure that the script and the film work out the way I imagine," he added.
