“Aashiqui Aise Hi...”: Ananya Panday Confirms Relationship With Aditya Roy Kapur On ‘KWK 8’
Ananya Panday and Sara Ali Khan recently appeared on Karan Johar’s chat show ‘Koffee With Karan 8’.
Bollywood actress Ananya Panday, who was last seen in the 2023 hit film ‘Dream Girl 2’ co-starring Ayushmann Khurrana, is rumoured to be dating 'Aashiqui 2' star Aditya Roy Kapur. While several pictures from their outings have gone viral time and again, the two have always refrained from acknowledging their relationship publically. However, on the latest episode of ‘Koffee With Karan 8’, Ananya Panday seemingly confirmed that she is dating Aditya Roy Kapur. It all started when Karan Johar asked her about her relationship status.
Ananya Panday did not explicitly confirm her romance with Aditya Roy Kapur, but she dropped enough hints for everyone to put the pieces together.
When Karan Johar asked Ananya Panday if she had been "Gumraah in love" ('Gumraah' was Aditya Roy Kapur's last theatrical release), Ananya Panday replied, "Aashiqui aise hi hoti hai."
For the unversed, 'Aashiqui 2' is the biggest hit of Aditya Roy Kapur's career so far.
Karan Johar then told Ananya Panday to give a clear answer about her relationship status as denying a relationship is quite passé.
The 'Dream Girl 2' actress then said, “Some things are private and special and it should be kept that way but I really want to talk about my professional life because no one’s talking about it.”
When Karan Johar probed further, Ananya Panday said that they were “friends”. KJo then said a famous line from his directorial debut ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, saying “pyaar dosti hai”, and to this, Ananya Panday replied, “We’re best friends.”
During the rapid fire round, Karan Johar also asked Ananya Panday clearly, “Are you dating Aditya Roy Kapur?” to which she said, “I am feeling very Ananya Coy Kapur to answer that question.”
During the same segment when Sara Ali Khan was asked about the one thing Ananya has that she doesn’t, the 'Zara Hatke Zara Bachke' actress replied, “A Night Manager” referring to Aditya Roy Kapur’s hit Disney+ Hotstar web series ‘The Night Manager’.
Earlier this year, during the trailer launch event of ‘Gumraah’, Aditya Roy Kapur was asked about his wedding plans.
“I think everyone is getting married but I am not getting any FOMO. So, I will take my time and do it when the time is right,” he said.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Ananya Panday was last seen in ‘Dream Girl 2’ alongside Ayushmann Khurrana. This Hindi film is the biggest hit of Ananya Panday's career so far.
She will soon be making her OTT debut with series 'Call Me Bae' on Amazon Prime Video. Ananya Panday also has a film titled ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’ in the pipeline, and it also stars Adarsh Gourav and Siddhant Chaturvedi.
