Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt recently appeared as guests on ‘Koffee With Karan 8’.

The fourth episode of Karan Johar’s ‘Koffee With Karan 8’, featuring sisters-in-law and actresses Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor Khan, dropped recently. It was filled with camaraderie and candor. From Alia Bhatt answering whether she considers Deepika Padukone her competition to finally breaking her silence on whether her husband-actor Ranbir Kapoor is "toxic", a lot happened on ‘KWK 8’. Kareena Kapoor Khan, who was last seen in the 2023 Netflix movie ‘Jaane Jaan’, was seen being her usual fun self, especially during the rapid-fire round.

In the rapid-fire segment, Karan Johar asked Kareena Kapoor Khan if she would ever play Sara Ali Khan’s mother in a film. For the unversed, Sara Ali Khan is the daughter of Kareena’s husband Saif Ali Khan from his first marriage with Amrita Singh.

Karan Johar asked Kareena Kapoor Khan, “If you were asked to play Sara’s mother in a film, would you?”

The ‘Jab We Met’ actress replied, “I am an actor. I can play all ages. So, you never know.” Karan Johar further asked, “So, you are open to it?” Kareena Kapoor said, “I am open to anything that is acting.”

During the episode, KJo also asked Kareena Kapoor Khan about her decades-old rivalry with Ameesha Patel. For the unversed, the rivalry between the two started when Kareena Kapoor stepped away her intended debut film ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’.

Ameesha Patel replaced Kareena Kapoor, and the movie marked her and Hrithik Roshan’s debut.

Ameesha Patel recently made her acting comeback with the 2023 Bollywood movie ‘Gadar 2’. Following the massive success of ‘Gadar 2’, Sunny Deol threw a grand party to celebrate the film. While the party saw the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan in attendance, Kareena Kapoor Khan didn’t turn up at the star-studded affair.

Karan Johar asked Kareena Kapoor why she didn’t attend the party and she responded saying she wasn’t in town. However, KJo said, “That’s a lie. I know you were in town.”

Karan Johar tried to ask Kareena Kapoor about her “history” with Ameesha Patel, and to this, the Bollywood actress said, “The only history I know is that her movie has created history.”

Opening up about the time when Ameesha Patel landed ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’ after she quit the film, Kareena Kapoor Khan said, “I think films are destiny and everyone went on to do their best.”

Calling this Kareena Kapoor Khan’s “Oscar speech”, Karan Johar implied that she was being very diplomatic.

When asked if Kareena Kapoor congratulated Sunny Deol or Ameesha Patel on the success of their film, the Bollywood actress said that she hadn’t and added, “But I think it’s fabulous and I can congratulate them now, here.”

When Kareena Kapoor asked Karan Johar if he was there, and he replied in positive, she jokingly said, “Aap toh har party mein jaate ho.”

Alia Bhatt then commented, “She’s trolling you.” When Karan Johar kept on asking the same question and insisted Kareena Kapoor Khan was in Mumbai at the time of ‘Gadar 2’ success bash, she asked, “Are you a troll?”

Recently, after the success of ‘Gadar 2’, Ameesha Patel spoke about their feud and said that Kareena did not quit ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’ but was asked by director Rakesh Roshan to leave as they were “having differences.”

‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’, released in 2000, was directed by Rakesh Roshan and marked the debut of Hrithik and Ameesha. It was originally meant to star Kareena Kapoor who exited the film and instead made her debut with ‘Refugee’, co-starring Abhishek Bachchan.

The latest episode of ‘Koffee With Karan 8’ is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
