The Kolkata hospital horror, involving the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at a medical college has left the country shocked, and in grief. In the latest news, several Bollywood celebrities such as Priyanka Chopra, Hrithik Roshan, Kriti Sanon, Genelia D'Souza, and Suhana Khan, have expressed their anger and concern on social media. Taking to X, Hrithik Roshan wrote, "Yes we need to evolve into a society where we ALL feel equally safe. But that is going to take decades. It's going to hopefully happen with sensitizing and empowering our sons and daughters. The next generations will be better.”
"We will get there. Eventually. But what in the interim? Right now justice would be to put a hard stop to such atrocities. And the only way to do that is a punishment so harsh that it scares the living daylights out of such perpetrators. That's what we need. Perhaps ? I stand with the victim's family in seeking justice for their daughter and I stand with all the Doctors that were attacked last night," he added.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas took to Instagram Stories to repost a BBC picture from a protest in Kolkata. The protestor held a sign, reading, "Who will speak for her if you don't?”
Twinkle Khanna took to her Instagram, and she shared a picture with the text that read, "Fifty years on this planet, in this country, and I am teaching my daughter the same things I was taught as a child. Don't go alone – to the park, to school, to the beach.”

For the unversed, a post-graduate trainee doctor was found dead in RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on August 9. It is being alleged that the victim was raped and murdered.
Now, doctors across India are protesting over the murder and alleged sexual assault of the post-graduate trainee (PGT) doctor, demanding justice for the victim.
The protests are being held in Kolkata, Guwahati, Hyderabad and Mumbai. The protestors have been holding placards such as "Justice needs to be served", "No duty without security" and “Justice delayed is justice denied.”
