The wait just got a little bit longer to see Nayanthara, Shah Rukh Khan and Vijay Sethupathi together on the big screen. Atlee's upcoming project 'Jawan' which was slated for a June 2 release, has now been postponed, as per a report in Pinkvilla. Ever since SRK returned to the big screen with 'Pathaan' earlier this year, fans have been eagerly waiting to see his next release - 'Jawan'. Every now and then, the new Hindi Bollywood movie trends on Twitter with SRK fans asking for the release date or teaser for the film. And now, as per the latest Bollywood gossip, one of the most awaited movies of 2023 has been postponed.
"Jawan is no longer releasing on June 2, 2023. The team needs some more time to complete the visual effects of the film and they would rather come up with a product that competes with the best in the country than a substandard one,” Pinkvilla quoted a source as saying.
"The team is contemplating on several dates but they need to be in sync with the VFX guidelines. The dates being considered at the moment are June 29, and all the four weeks of August. In all probability, Jawan will be an August release now, as Shah Rukh Khan and team now want to give adequate time to the VFX. August 11 and August 25 are heavily being discussed by all stakeholders at Red Chillies,” the source added.
For the unversed, the month of August is already stacked in terms of releases as on August 11, three films would be releasing -- Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal', Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel's 'Gadar 2' and Vivek Agnihotri's 'The Vaccine War'.
Ayushmann Khurrana's 'Dream Girl 2' is slated for a August 25 release while Rajnikanth's 'Jailer' is also poised for an August 10 release.
Apart from SRK, Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, 'Jawan' will also have cameos by Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt.
Apart from 'Jawan', SRK will also be seen in 'Dunki' this year, which is being directed by Rajkumar Hirani, famous for helming movies like 'PK', '3 Idiots' and 'Munnabhai MBBS'.
