"Vulnerable Tha...": Manoj Bajpayee Reveals Sushant Singh Rajput Was Really Bothered By "Blind Articles"
Manoj Bajpayee, who shared screen space with Sushant Singh Rajput in 'Sonchiriya', has opened up about his equation with the late actor.
Ever since actor Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide in June 2020, Bollywood has had to face several accusations, and naysayers still continue to say some nasty things about the Hindi film industry. However, no actor barring one or two, has come out in public to say something really negative about Bollywood, rather, many actors and actresses have just had good things to say about Sushant Singh Rajput, offering sympathy and their condolences. In the latest entertainment news, veteran actor Manoj Bajpayee, who shared the screen with SSR in 'Sonchiriya', has opened up about his equation with the late actor.
He also revealed that “blind articles” (gossip reports) would really bother Sushant Singh Rajput.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Manoj Bajpayee said, "Bahut zyaada, bahut vulnerable tha vo us maamle me. Acha aadmi tha, bahut hi acha aadmi, aur acha aadmi hi affected hota hai. Right? Vo bahut baar aake mujhe puchta tha ki sir main kya karun? Toh main ussko kehta tha ki yarr tu zyaada seriously mat le. Main jaanta hu, kyuki main bhugat chuka hu, bhugat raha hu, main abhi tak bhugat raha hu."
Manoj Bajpayee then shared how he had shared his approach to dealing with blind articles. He said he also conveyed the same to SSR.
"Kuch ek log hai bhai [Sushant Singh Rajput] jo log, jinki filmein chal rahi hai, jo power me hai, unko handle, main to handle dusre tareeke se karta hun. Main to unke dosto ko bolta hu ki unko bolna ki aake marunga main tujhe. Kyunki mai jaanta hu ki dost jaake bolega ki Manoj keh raha tha ki tujhe maarega. Main to bihari aadmi, main aise jhagda nahi karta hu kise se," said Manoj Bajpayee.
"Uske dost ko bolo, ya dost ke dost ko bolo. To dost jo hai, dost ko bolega, dost jaake usko bolega, ki Manoj tujhe maarega. To baat pahunch jaye yahi chahiye na? To hasta tha, Sushant bahut hasta tha," he added.
Then Manoj Bajpayee quoted SSR's reply, saying, "Sir yeh aap hi karte sakte ho. Main nahi kar skata. Main kaise karun?"
"But he used to get troubled by those blind articles," he added.
For the unversed, Sushant Singh Rajput died allegedly by suicide in June 2020. A CBI enquiry was ordered later, however, there was no proof found of any wrongdoing.
Speaking further about his bond with SSR, Manoj said, "Bahut sensitive aur bahut hi intelligent aadmi tha. Aur mai jo mutton bna ke khilata tha set pe uska deewana tha, kyuki basically to bihari tha vo. To jo meat bhaat hum log khaate the, mai banata tha, aur kayi baar khaya usne auer bolta bhi rehta tha ki Manoj bhai aapke ghar aake khana hai. Maine (bola) jaise hi banauga, mai tujhe bulaunga. That was our last talk. And theek uske 10 din ke baad, he passed away."
“I was, like everyone, who was very close to him or around him, shocked, shattered. I was one of them. I just could not believe it. Abhi bhi, jaise mai believe nahi kar paata hu jaise do logo ki mrityu ko lekar ke. Ek Sushant ki, ek Irrfan (Khan) ki. It was too early. It is difficult to come to terms with them going away. Kisi ki age ho jaati hai to aap ussey samjhota kar lete ho. Lekin abhi bas thrive kar rahe the yeh log. They were thriving, they were doing good work. Vaqt aa gya tha in logo ka. Irrfan has been doing so well, nationally, and internationally. Inke nahi hone ka abhi tak ehsaas ho nahi paya," he added.
On the work front, Manoj Bajpayee will next be seen in 'Bhaiyya Ji', which is slated to be released in cinemas on May 24, 2024. This is the actor's 100th film.
