Hopes were high from the new Hindi movie, and fans were anticipating another Rs 500 crore movie from Bollywood. However, the recent trends at the box office indicates that it would be hard for the new Hindi movie to scale this feat. The new Hindi movie has managed to go past the Rs 200 crore mark at the domestic box office, however, it needs to be seen whether it manages to go past the collection of 'Tiger Zinda Hai'.
For the unversed, 'Tiger Zinda Hai' is currently the highest-grossing movie of Salman Khan's career so far. The new Hindi movie had collected more than Rs 330 crore in India.
In the latest entertainment news, Manoj Desai, the executive director of Maratha Mandir and Gaiety Galaxy theatres has opened up on the performance of 'Tiger 3', saying "bhagwaan he malik hai".
He also said that the movie is not going houseful.
"Bahut umeed laga kar rakhi thi. Salman Khan ki picture main dono hi theatre mein lagata hun. Hazaar-hazaar seats ke dono theatres hain. Lekin jab picture full [houseful] nahi gayi toh main bohot upset hu. Super duper hit wali baat nahi rahi hai," Manoj Desai told Viral Bollywood, as reported by NDTV.
When asked about the storyline, Manoj Desai said, "Unhone [Salman Khan] socha hoga ki shayad theek hojayega [film's concept]. Lekin gadbad ho gayi hai. Picture jo socha tha waisa gayi ni hai. Houseful jana band ho gayi hai. Ab upar wala malik hai."
For the unversed, 'Tiger 3' also features cameos by Shah Rukh Khan, and Hrithik Roshan. In the film, Emraan Hashmi is playing the main antagonist.
"Hrithik Roshan ke aane se pehle public bahar nikal jati hai. Pehli baat to yeh hai. Salman Khan aur Katrina Kaif ki pair bahut acchi hai. Ab yaha kaha gadbad ho gayi mujhe malum nahi hai. Kuch logo ko to sharminda hona chahiye mere samne, jo mujhe bolne aaye the ‘Jab tak Shah Rukh Khan aya bada maza aya, baki picture mein kuch nahi hai'," said Manoj Desai.
Speaking of ‘Tiger 3’, it is Salman Khan’s 17th film to enter the Rs 100 crore club at the box office, and this is the highest for any actor in the history of Indian cinema.
‘Tiger 3’, the new Hindi movie, has been directed by Maneesh Sharma. It had opened to mixed reviews. Some of the critics described it as the weakest film in the YRF Spy Universe.
‘Tiger 3’ also features cameos by Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan. The latter appears in the post-credits scene, setting up the events in motion for ‘War 2’, in which he will be sharing the screen with Jr NTR.
For the unversed, the YRF Spy Universe consists of movies such as 'Ek Tha Tiger', 'Tiger Zinda Hai', 'War', 'Pathaan', and now 'Tiger 3'. YRF has two more movies expected to come out -- 'War 2', and 'Tiger vs Pathaan'.
