'Mission Raniganj' Teaser: Akshay Kumar Comes To The Rescue Of 65 Trapped Men

The teaser of Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra-starrer 'Mission Raniganj' is out! In the new Hindi movie, Akshay Kumar will be playing the role of Jaswant Singh Gill, who was the hero behind "India’s first coal mine rescue mission". For the unversed, in this particular mission, Jaswant Singh Gill saved the lives of 65 miners who were trapped 350 feet underground.
The teaser opens with miners toiling away in a dimly lit coal mine, and soon we are shown how their mine ends up being flooded and workers scramble to save themselves.
Akshay Kumar then enters the frame, and he declares that the workers are counting on him and his team for rescue.
The teaser also offers a glimpse into the character of Parineeti Chopra, who is watching the rescue mission from outside.

Apart from Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra, the movie also stars Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, Varun Badola, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya in pivotal roles.
It is slated to release in theatres on October 6, 2023. The new Hindi movie has been directed by Tinu Suresh Desai while it has been produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, and Ajay Kapoor.
For the uninitiated, 'Mission Raniganj' is based on a real-life incident that happened in Raniganj Coalfields, West Bengal, in 1989. During that time, 64 miners were trapped in a flooded coal mine, and Jaswant Singh Gill ended up risking his life to rescue the miners.
