MS Dhoni To Make Bollywood Debut In ‘The Chase’ With R Madhavan? Watch Video
MS Dhoni featured alongside R Madhavan in an action-packed teaser, leaving fans speculating if the cricket legend is set for his Bollywood debut.
Former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni might be stepping into his most high-profile screen role yet. A teaser titled ‘The Chase’ was recently unveiled, featuring the legendary cricketer alongside Indian star R Madhavan. The slick, action-heavy clip has ignited speculation that Dhoni is preparing for a full-fledged acting debut. In the teaser, shared by producers Lucifer Circus, Dhoni and Madhavan appeared as elite task force officers.
Unveiling the teaser, the makers wrote: “Lucifer Circus presents the ultimate blockbuster! The legend himself, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, joins forces with the brilliant R. Madhavan and the ever-charming Viraj Ghelani, directed by the one and only master storyteller Vasan Bala. Music on @lucifermusic666. Buckle up… THE CHASE begins now.”
They even tagged the project as MS Dhoni’s “Bollywood debut,” sending fans into overdrive.

Dressed in tactical black uniforms, dark aviators, and carrying rifles, the duo looked mission-ready as they prepared for a high-stakes operation. Comedian Viraj Ghelani also featured in the teaser, adding further intrigue.
Reactions on social media were frenzied. While some were convinced this marks MS Dhoni’s long-awaited foray into Hindi cinema, others wondered whether ‘The Chase’ is a film, web series, or a high-concept advertisement.
Fans flooded timelines with excitement, hailing MS Dhoni as a natural hero. “From Captain Cool to action hero — Thala never fails to surprise us!” one user wrote, while another affirmed, “It’s Thala for a reason.”
Though MS Dhoni has previously appeared in several commercials and even made a cameo in a Tamil film, this teaser has raised expectations of his most significant screen role to date. The speculation aligns with MS Dhoni’s enduring popularity; even after retiring from international cricket in 2020, he continues to be a beloved icon in the Indian Premier League.
He last turned out for the Chennai Super Kings in May 2025 against the Gujarat Titans. Despite stepping back from active competition, CSK retained him last season as an uncapped player, offering him Rs 4 crore.
Meanwhile, R Madhavan has been keeping equally busy. The actor was last seen in Dharma Productions’ Netflix release ‘Aap Jaisa Koi’ opposite Fatima Sana Shaikh. He is gearing up for the big-ticket film ‘Dhurandar’. The ensemble drama also stars Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal, and is slated for release on December 5.
With MS Dhoni’s surprise appearance in ‘The Chase’, fans are left eagerly waiting to see whether the teaser evolves into a full-fledged cinematic outing or remains a standalone concept piece.
